BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Carole Fisher – Co-owner, Ditch Doctor

Carole is co-owner of Ditch Doctor Atlantic Limited, in 2002 her husband Adam started the company with a long reach excavator dredging harbours and marinas, bush cutting services as well as infrastructure drainage using the Ditch Doctor Excavator Attachment Adam designed and built.

Carole grew up in Five Islands, living most of her life in the West Colchester area currently living in Glenholme. Carole graduated with her travel and tourism degree along with marketing and project management working in the travel industry, banking and education department for CCRSB.

Carole has volunteered for many non profit organizations and has been a board member on various committees and she recognizes the importance of flexibility, social media, patience and clear communication and are looking forward to becoming a board member.

 

Doug MacInnes – Regional Sales Manager, Wilson’s Heating

Doug is a former small business owner and currently holds the position of Regional Sales Manager and Truro Branch Manager for Wilson’s Heating. His involvement in economic development throughout Colchester over the past 25 years has given him a great understanding of how important it is to support our local businesses.

Doug is a lifelong resident of Colchester County and believes in giving back to the community which has supported him in business for so many years. As well as be being s former County Councillor Doug has also volunteered over the years as a former member of the Scotia Pool board of directors, Past chair of the Along the Shore Health board, President of the Lower Onslow Community Society, Past President and current board member of STEPs on Arthur and proud supporter of the local Big Brothers program along with his little brother Shawnn who have been together now for the past 10 years.

Glen MacKenzie – Operations Manager, AEL Millwright Services

Glen has worked in the Truro area for the last 25 years. After graduating from Saint Mary’s University in 1995, and working for a year in Halifax he returned to Truro doing contract work through his own IT company. This lead to working for a local Machining and Millwright company for 20 years.

In 2016 he became a Co-Owner in AEL Millwright Services, a Div. of Agricultural Enterprises Limited, a company that has operated in the Truro area since 1976.

As an active volunteer, Glen has been involved with the Bible Hill Kinsmen since 1997, becoming a Life Member in 2018, a mentor/ big brother with Big Brother Big Sisters for seven years and a member of the North Shore ATV Club for over ten years helping to build trails in the local area. Most recently, Glen has joined a provincial trails committee with ATVANS working towards connecting & building better trails across Nova Scotia.

Kenisha McMaster – Owner, Kenisha’s Cleaning Company

My name is Kenisha McMaster, I am the proud owner of Kenisha‘s Residential and Commercial Cleaning Company. I have been a member of the Truro and Colchester Chamber of Commerce for the past 4 years.

Jeremy Nichols – General Manager, Commercial Safety College

Jeremy Nichols has worked in the private career college sector since 2010, and is the General Manager of Commercial Safety College, a leading training facility for the transportation and heavy equipment operation sectors.

A graduate of Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, NS (B.Comm), Jeremy sits on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Career Colleges and is currently the President of the Private Colleges Association of Nova Scotia.

 

Heidi Sponagle – Director of Sales, Inn on Prince Hotel & Conference Centre

Heidi was born and raised in the village of Thorburn, just outside New Glasgow. She has lived all over Canada for 15 years, but moved home to be closer to family. She started working in the hotel industry when Holiday Inn Express Stellarton-New Glasgow opened in 2008 and never left. She has been working in Truro at Holiday Inn and now Inn on Prince since October 2017. Passionate about all things Nova Scotia and dedicated to promoting our beautiful province to the world.
